Starlooks November 2015 Shimmering Future Looksbook

This is my forth Starlooks Looksbook and this month their theme was Shimmering Future.  If you don't know what the Starlooks Looksbook is, it is a monthly memebership program where you are sent three makeup items each month for only $12.  Each item sent is from their own collection of beauty products and can be purchased on their website.  As you can see below the makeup items you receive are sent in a cute book-like box that you can keep the products in which is super cute.  Each month you're also sent three gift cards that go towards products in their shop.

Attached to the box are three pages that gives you tips on how to apply each product that you are sent that month.

The first product sent this month was an eye shadow duo in the shades "Fortune 500".   These eye shadows are a bit messy but they are very pretty especially the shade '500'.  In my photo below I did apply both shades but it seems my flash almost made it look like I wasn't really wearing any shadow at all.

The second product sent this month was a liquid eyeliner in the shade "Golden Ticket".  This eyeliner is amazing!  First of all when applied this eyeliner is exactly how you'd imagine a gold eyeliner should be.  It's super pigmented and does not budge so you don't have to worry about it smearing.  In the photo below I applied this eyeliner to the top part of my eyelid near the inner corner as well as on my lower lash lines.

The last product sent this month was a lip product in the shade "Opulence".  When I first tried this product I was a bit disappointed because it was so dark on me that it almost looked like I was wearing black lipstick.  After trying to apply other shades on top to lighten it I decided to use a brush instead to apply it to my lips and the color was much more wearable for me.  This product does seem to be a little patchy but that could be because of my chapped lips as well. I will definitely be experimenting more with this shade.

 Swatches from top to bottom:

Eye Shadow- Fortune
Eye Shadow- 500
Liquid Liner- Golden Ticket
Lip Pencil - Opulence

In this photo I used all three products from this month's book.

November 2015 Birchbox - Review

If you don't know already Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box service.  Each month you pay $10 and you are then shipped 5 beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples that are personalized towards you.  Birchbox also has their own shop which you can use the points you accumulate from reviewing the products you get each month to purchase products you love or maybe to try something new.  For each product that you review you will receive 10 points and for every 100 points you get will equal to $10 in the Birchbox shop

Every box comes with a card in it which tells you each product you've received.  Under each product it also tells you about each product and how much the full-size of each will cost.

This was the first product I received this month.  I really wish the perfume samples all came in either roller-ball or spray packaging because I had a really hard time getting this one open.  I actually liked the scent for this one, at first, unfortunately after an hour or so the fragrance was way too over powering and ended up giving me a terrible headache so I will not be using this perfume anymore.  The full-size of this perfume is $85.

This was the next product I received this month and one I was excited about.  Asides from the tiny product size the samples are super cute.  I always like receiving theBalm products because they are always nicely pigmented and this one was no different.  The full-size of this product is $21.

This was the next product I received this month and one I have mixed feelings about.  First off, this product smells amazing in my opinion, but if you don't wash it off of your hands after using they will feel almost sticky.  I didn't notice it controlling frizz too much but I may just need to apply a little more product.  Still though I will continue to use this product even if it's just because of how amazing it smells.  The full-size of this product is $26.

This was the next product I received this month and another I was excited to try out.   I wasn't really fond of how this one smelled, but it did make my skin feel very soft and moisturized after using.  I will continue to use this product because it's a great scrub.  The full-size of this product is $25.

This is the last product I received this month and also my sample choice.  Birchbox recently started their own makeup line and this was one of the products sampled this month.  I was most excited about this product because I love berry shades and this one was gorgeous.  I do wish the product size was bigger though considering this is the full-size, but I will be repurchasing this once I run out.  A great thing about this product is that it's not drying and if you have chapped lips like I tend to it doesn't highlight that which is great.  The full-size of this product is $8, but a set with all three shades is $18.

Overall I think my box this month was amazing, especially since there will be only one product I won't be using out of the five that I received.  If you'd love to join me in receiving Birchbox each month you can use my referral link by going HERE!

Starlooks October 2015 Utopia Looksbook - Review

This is my third Starlooks Looksbook and this month their theme was Utopia.  If you don't know what the Starlooks Looksbook is, it is a beauty subscription where you are sent three makeup items each month for only $12.

The first product sent this month is a cream eye base in the shade "Concrete".  This product can also be use with a liner brush to line the eyes.  At the end of this post I've shared a picture of myself using all three products I received this month.  For this product I used it on my eyelid for a more neutral look, and also applied a darker shadow to my creases.  This product doesn't show up much on my skin but it gives my eyelids an even shade.  This product is very creamy but I haven't noticed any creasing.

This is the next product I received this month which is a cream blush in the shade "Abstract".  I've never used a stick cream blush before but I really liked this product.  In my picture I used it on my cheeks but I've also tried it on my lips as well with the gloss and it was just a nice.

This was the last product I received this month which is a gloss in the shade "Ideal"  unfortunately my camera didn't capture the correct shade.   I really like their glosses because they are not sticky and every gloss of theirs that I've tried has been very pretty when applied.

Swatches from left to right:

Cream blush - Abstract
Lip gloss - Ideal
Cream base shadow - Concrete

In this photo I used all three products sent this month and I really liked them all.  To me every box I receive seems to get better and better and I love that you can use all three products for one look.

October 2015 Beauty Box 5 - Review

This is my first time ever receiving Beauty Box 5 and I was really excited when it arrived in my mailbox.  I have been subscribed to Birchbox for about a year now and thought it would be fun to try another subscription box out.  Beauty Box 5 is $12 a month and each month you receive 5 deluxe samples and full-sized products to try out.  BB5 also has the option to pay quarterly for $30 which saves $6 or pay yearly for $99 to save $45.

Each box comes with a card telling you what you have received that month and how much each product retails for.  For the month of October their theme was Think Pink and every product this month was pink.

This was the first product I received this month and I've really been wanting to try out a product like this for a while now.  This Makeup Cleansing Cloth is supposed to wipe away your makeup with only having to add water.  The greatest part of this product is that it is machine washable so you don't have to worry about running out of makeup remover wipes.  This cleansing cloth is also super soft and gentle on your skin.  This is the full-size and it retails for $3.99.

This is was the second product that came in this month's box.  This kabuki brush is super cute and about twice the price of the box!  This brush can be used to buff on mineral foundation, powders, blushes and bronzers.  This brush is very soft and I've been using it to apply blush which it does beautifully.  This kabuki brush retails for $25.

This was the next product I received this month and the one I was most excited about.  I received this in the shade bold berry and it is gorgeous.  This is a lovely fuchsia shade which is highly pigmented.  This lip balm is also very moisturizing which is great.  This product retails for $4.99.

These are the next products I received and you can never have too many hair ties.  Luckily my hair is finally at a length where I can put most of it up in a ponytail now.  I love these types of hair ties because they're super cute.  These retail for $4 for the two of them.

Nubar - Nail Polish Mini

This is the last product I received this month in the shade Pinktober which is vegan and cruelty free.  I don't really paint my nails as much as I used to but it's still a nice color to own.  Unfortunately this nail polish takes about 4 or 5 coats to make it opaque but it does dry pretty quickly which is a plus because I'm always painting my nails and then ruining them as soon as I'm done.  Beauty Box 5 teamed up with Nubar to create this custom shade specifically for this month and it retails for $4.99.

Overall I really loved the October box and think Beauty Box 5 is great for only $12 a month.

2nd October 2015 Birchbox - Review

If you don't know already Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box service.  Each month you pay $10 and you are then shipped 5 beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples that are personalized towards you.  Birchbox also has their own shop which you can use the points you accumulate from reviewing the products you get each month to purchase products you love or maybe to try something new.  For each product that you review you will receive 10 points and for every 100 points you get will equal to $10 in the Birchbox shop.

Each box comes with a card that tells you about that specific month on the front and on the back it lists each item you received that month along with a description of what that product is and what it does.  This month they partnered with The Estée Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

This was the first product I received this month and my sample choice.  I chose this mascara because I had heard this was a great mascara.  This mascara is supposed to curl and lift your lashes and although it did seem to curl and lift a little bit I still felt using an eyelash curler helped.  I really like this mascara though because it makes my lashes look longer.  The full-size of this mascara is $24.

This is the next product I received this month and one that I had already received in my November box last year.  This is a face cream for dull, dry skin which I don't have.  This product helps hydrate skin but I think it'll be better for my skin once the weather starts to get colder.  The full-size of this is $48.

This was the 3rd product I received this month and I have almost already used the whole bottle.  This is one of the products that I never get tired of receiving.  My hair tends to get oily quickly and this is one of the best dry shampoos that I've tried.  Once I spray it on and brush my hair it doesn't leave any white residue and it actually soaks up all the grease. The full-size of this product is $20.

This is the next product I received and another I was happy to receive because I'd tried this product before in a different shade.  This is a nice lip product, it doesn't feel sticky and it is very moisturizing.  This is also not just a gloss it is also a primer and stain. The full-size of this product is $24.

This is the last product I received this month and one I haven't had the chance to try out yet.  This product sounds nice though you apply it to your face and after 15 minutes wipe off the excess with a cotton pad.  This soothing mask is supposed to revive tired, lackluster skin and banish redness and irritation.  The full-size of this product is $26.

October 2015 Birchbox - Review -Power Pose

If you don't know already Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box service.  Each month you pay $10 and you are then shipped 5 beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples that are personalized towards you.  Birchbox also has their own shop which you can use the points you accumulate from reviewing the products you get each month to purchase products you love or maybe to try something new.  For each product that you review you will receive 10 points and for every 100 points you get will equal to $10 in the Birchbox shop.

This month I decided to go with the  Power Pose guest editor box because I really wanted to try out all of the products they were offering this time.

This was the first product that came in this month's guest editor box.  I really liked this moisturizer because it didn't make my skin feel oily.  This moisturizer is lightweight and an oil-free cream-gel, it made my skin feel very soft when applied and didn't seem to break me out.  I also loved that the sample of this product came in a little jar instead of a tiny tube so that I'll be able to use all of the product.  The full-size of this product is $39.

This was the second product that I received this month and another moisturizer.  I was also happy that this one came in a jar as well.  I don't really know whether I like one better than the other but I wasn't really a fan of how strong the scent was for this one.  This product is said to soften lines, firm and brighten the skin.  The full-size for this product is $295.

This was the third product I received this month.  I've tried this product before and it's a good primer.  This primer goes on smooth and makes my skin feel really soft.  I like this primer because it doesn't make my foundation appear cakey like some primers I've tried in the past and it doesn't dry out my skin.  Even though the size of this sample was quite small I noticed you only need to use a small amount of product. The full-size of this product is $36.

Clinique - Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm - Mega Melon

This was the next product I received and the one I was most excited for because I've been really into lip products lately. I love the formula for this product.  This lip crayon is very creamy and has great pigmentation. This balm has mango and shea butters which hydrates lips and the full-size of this product is $17.

Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Synchronized Complex II

This is the last product I received in the Power Pose box and I haven't gotten around to really using it yet.  This is an overnight serum that uses ChronoluxCB Technology to dramatically reduce signs of aging.  The full-size of this product is $65.

Overall I'm really happy with the Guest Editor box this month, all the products are very nice and will get used.
