Starlooks September 2015 Revival Looksbook -Review

This is my second Starlooks Looksbook and this month their theme was Revival!  If you don't know what the Starlooks Looksbook is, it is a beauty subscription where you are sent three makeup items each month for only $12.  Each item sent is from their own collection of beauty products and can be purchased on their website.  As you can see below the makeup items you receive are sent in a cute book-like box that you can keep the products in which is super cute.

Attached to the box are three pages that gives you tips on how to apply each product that you are sent that month.

The first product send this month was a gorgeous pink lipstick in the shade RAWR! I don't usually buy bold pink lipsticks but I really like this one.  This lipstick is also matte which I really like since I don't really like ones with a shiny finish but it is a little drying so if you have chapped lips like I do it's a good idea to exfoliate your lips and use chapstick before applying.

The second product I received is their spectrum mascara in the shade FLORA.  You can't tell from the photo but this is a blueish-green mascara which is very interesting.  This is a very creamy mascara and I used about 2-3 coats and didn't notice any clumping whatsoever.

 (Edited to show true color)

The last product sent this month was the Agave eye shadow duo.  In my photo below I used the green shade in the outer corner of my eyes and the purple shade in the creases of my eyes.  I also decided to add a lighter shade to the inner corners of my eyes to lighten it up a little. These shades are very dark and pigmented.

In this photo I used all products sent this month.  I love all the products I received this month even more than last month.

imPRESS press-on manicure - Review

A few weeks ago I was told I would have the opportunity to review imPRESS Press-on manicure and I was pretty excited because I haven't liked painting my nails lately since every time I do I seem to mess them up only seconds after painting them.  I also wanted to try these out because I was really interested to see if they would actually last a while especially since years ago when I tried press-on nails they didn't seem to stick very well.  When I first received them in the mail I got more excited because the colors and designs were really cute.  I put these on about two nights ago and so far I'm pretty impressed, they haven't fallen off and don't seem to be coming loose either, they actually stick really well.

I received two different sets to try out and the one on the left is called Bells & Whistles and the one on the right is called Ecstatic Cling.
Bells&Whistles came in a pale turquoise shade and accent nails with black, pink and pale turquoise Aztec designs.  This set comes with 30 ultra-shine gel nails and 6 accent nails.
Ecstatic Cling came in hot pink and also came with two little charms that look like they might be bows but I'm not sure.  This set comes with 24 gel nails and 2 charms.  The little charms also come with 6 sticky pieces so that you can reuse them.

The nails come with ultra-hold adhesive technology and the best way to get them to hold really well is to press down firmly in the middle and then on the sides of each nail off and on for about 30 minutes and wait about an hour before cutting and filing the nails so that they stick well.

The reason I really like these press-on nails is because they don't damage your nails, no glue is needed and the removal is super easy all you have to do is pull them off.  These are the only waterproof, press-on nails and they last for up to a week.

imPress Press-On Manicure has over 40 colors, designs & accent nails to choose from and they only cost $6.99.  To see some of the nails they offer you can visit their website HERE and you can also check out their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Youtube at @imPRESSmanicure

September 2015 Birchbox - Review

This month for sample choice I decided to leave my box up to chance because nothing really stood out for me.  So, if you don't know already Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box service.  Each month you pay $10 and you are then shipped 5 beauty, grooming, and/or lifestyle samples that are personalized towards you.  Birchbox also has their own shop which you can use the points you accumulate from reviewing the products you get each month to purchase products you love or maybe to try something new.  For each product that you review you will receive 10 points and for every 100 points you get will equal to $10 in the Birchbox shop.

This month I actually received 5 products in my box but I did not really like the perfume sample I received so I ended up giving it away before realizing I should probably take a picture of the product first.  Each month also come with a card that tells you each product you received that month, the card also tells you what the product is and how to use it.  It seems I forgot to take pictures of two things this month.

This was the first product I received this month and it was actually also one of the sample choices.  Sometimes even when you don't pick a sample choice you may receive one of those items in your box.  This can be good if you end up receiving an item you actually wanted but were unable to choose in time.  Although I didn't particularly want this product I do like this eyebrow pencil a lot.  I received this in the shade medium brown which ended up being a good match for my eyebrows.  The full-size of this can be purchased in the Birchbox shop for $23.

This was the second product I received and the one that I was most excited about.  I love the packaging and I also love how big the sample of this is.  Not only does this product, in my opinion, smell amazing it also did an amazing job on my hair.  I used this when my hair was damp and while it was dry and both times it gave my hair a nice beachy texture.  This is probably one of my favorite products I've received since being with Birchbox and I definitely recommend this.  The full-size of this can be purchased in the Birchbox shop for $27.

This was the next product I received and I was really excited to use it when I heard it smelled like coffee.  This product is said to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles.  Now, I haven't used it enough to know for sure if it really works at doing as it says, but I will definitely keep using this product.  Although I haven't noticed a difference in my dark circles, which aren't too noticeable to begin with, it does make my the skin under my eyes feel very moisturized.  Plus, it does smell amazing.  The full-size of this can be purchased in the Birchbox shop for $25.

(Giulietta: Pink Tulip and Green Apple)

This was the last product I received and I love body scrubs so this was another good one for this month.  After using it I'm not so sure that I like how it smells but the scent is somewhat faint so it's not so bad.  I really enjoy this scrub though because my skin feels super soft and hydrated.  This body scrubs is sugar-based and contains crushed olive granules to delicately exfoliate dry skin.  It is also rich in natural oils which include olive oil, safflower oil, and grapeseed oil.  Plus, it is Paraben and Phthalate Free which is good.  The full-size of this product can be purchased in the Birchbox shop for $32.

Overall I'm really happy with my box this month.  Each of the products shown above will definitely be used.
